rouku

The name Rouku sits between languages — it echoes the Japanese for six, a number tied to harmony and balance, while carrying its own quiet meaning. Like the ceramics themselves: rooted in tradition, but belonging to no single one.

Rouku Ceramics is a small studio based in Rochester, England. Every piece is hand-shaped from stoneware clay, glazed with restraint, and fired at high temperatures for quiet durability. The work draws from Japanese minimalism — a tradition that believes in letting materials speak.

Rouku makes incense holders, sushi serving sets, dishes, tableware, and sculptural pieces. Each one shaped to hold attention, simple enough to settle into daily life.

The Rouku collection is available on Etsy, with new work shared on Instagram. For commissions, wholesale, or custom Rouku orders — get in touch.
